Iran: more October 2012



The Special Rapporteur for humanrights in Iran from UN says in an interview with International Campaign for Human Rights in Iran (ICHRI) that every day that journalists in Iran spend in jail, Iran suffers a reputational problem somewhere in the world.
In this interview he offered advice to Iran’s Human Rights Council, discussed the situation of imprisoned journalists, and expressed his broader message of hope for the Iranian people.

Amnesty International says that Nobelprize laureate Shirin Ebadi and six humanrightsorganizations called on Iran to allow all prisoners access to necessary medical care and family visits to which they are entitled under international human rights law.
Amnesty International, Human Rights Watch, International Campaign for Human Rights in Iran, Reporters Without Borders (RSF), International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH), and Iranian League for the Defence of Human Rights (LDDHI), renewed with Ebadi, their call on authorities to quash the peaceful activists’ convictions and release them.
Journalists, humanrightslawyers and defenders held solely on account of their peaceful activities, none of these people should be in prison.

Humanrightsactivists are concerned about five Kurdish political prisoners who three weeks ago were transferred to an unknown location and since then there is no information about them.
Their names are Jehajir Badouzadeh (life in prison), Ahmad Tamoueh (15 years), Ali Ahmad Suliman (5 years), Mustafa Ali Ahmad (10 years) and Yusuf Kaka-Mami (7 years) who were sentenced on charges of collaboration with PJAK.

Iran: more October 30, 2012

Iranian media report that two Iranian warships have docked at a port on Sudan’s Red Sea coast.
Less than a week after Sudan’s government accused Israel of carrying out an air strike on an arms factory in the Sudanese capital Khartoum, on October 29th the helicoptercarrier “Kharg” and the destroyer “Shahid Naqdi” arrived.

On July 10,1999 after the student unrest was University Computer Science graduate Saeed Zeinali, 22 at home arrested. He was allowed to make one phonecall to his family , since then, his family have not heard from him.
In the 14 following years, his family was sent from one authority to another, without even saying if he is still alive.
In 2010 his mother Akram Neghabi and his sister were arrested and were detained for 2 months in Ward 209 of Evin Prison, after Akram Neghabis September 2009 interview with Voice of America about her missing son’s case.

The Iranian Christian News Agency, Mohabat News reported that in Ahwaz four new Christians were sentenced to 1 year in prison. Their names are Farhad Sabokroh, the pastor of AOG church of Ahwaz, his wife Shahnaz and two other converts, Naser Zamen-Dezfuli and Davoud Alijani, who is called David.

Iran: further October 29, 2012

It is reported from Iran that one of the three prisoners who were hanged on Thursday, was a man who confronted a regime agent.
The man, Sadegh Koohi confronted on Sunday October 21st a prison official before the other inmates, resulting the guard was forced to flee the scene.
Statetelevision called on the regime’s public prosecutor to execute the man, which happened.
The guard, Ali Khadem personally placed the noose around the neck of Koohi.

Two of them were convicted of murder and the third was convicted of rape.

The Iranian Minister of Defense said that Iran posesses drones that are far more advanced than the unmanned aircraft Iranian-backed Hezbollah launched into Israeli airspace this month.
The Minister of Defense said on Sunday that this drone not was equipped with the latest technology.

The visit of a delegation of the European Parlement to Iran, scheduled from October 27 to November 2 has been cancelled.

The delegation also wanted to visit Nasrin Sotoudeh and Jafar Panahi who received the Sakharowprize for humanrights and the freedom of thoughts. Both are currently in prison.

400 workers from Bonyan Diesel in province East Azerbayan striked last month to protest the force relocation of their companies to other cities.

In Karaj en Shiar were 4 young activists arrested.
Their names are Babek Saran, Mehdi Samdi, Homan Armand and Wahid Barki. They are brought to ward 209 of Evinprison. Wahid Barki was released on bail after one week.

Fars newsagency reported that Friday in the city of Sarbaz in Sistan-Baluchistan province attackers opened fire on a checkpoint,  killing 2 policemen.

Bahai Tina Muhabti, 19 has been arrested by agents of intelligence ministry at a bus stop while on her way to Tehran. Last week was her mother, Shiba Ruhani arrested.
Bahai Akbar Pourhosseini from Semnan was sentenced to 28 months in prison on charges of anti-regime propaganda.

Detained blogger Hossein Ronaghi Maleki was transported to hospital by an ambulance, but not admitted.Later he was returned to Evinprison.
On the Taleqani Square in the city of Kashmar has a 26-year-old man publicly been lashed. He was sentenced to 99 lashes for adultery.
In February 2011 arrested journalist Abdolnaser Mahimani has been released from jail on furlough.

Iran: arrests October 25th, 2012

Humanrightslawyer and Nobelprize laureate Shirin Ebadi has reviewed the human rights situation in Iran in September-October 2012 in a report.
The website of Centre for the Defenders of Human Rights (CDHR) the report started by addressing the issue of early marriage of the girl child, in light of the recent proclamation by the United Nations to designate 11 October as the first International Day of the Girl Child.
Shirin Ebadi has not limited girls’ problems to the issue of early marriage; in her view their situation is even worse under the criminal law.

Incarcerated human rights lawyer Nasrin Sotoudeh, who is in hungerstrike since October 17th, has been transfered to the infirmary at Evinprison.
Her husband said that prior to the hungerstrike her health was that deteriorated that he asked her not to start a hungerstrike.

Iran, October 24th 2012


In the prison of Zahedan were on Sunday October 21st, three prisoners hanged.
The men, Yahya Chari, Abdoljalil Kahrazehi and Abdolbaset Rigi had been sentenced of moharebeh through connection with "terrorist" groups.
October 23rd were in the prison of Qazvin 3 men hanged.
Their names are R. Ch.,27, H. Rh.,47 and H. S.25.
They were convicted of drugstrafficking.
Worldwide there was international condemnation of the executions of last Sunday.The Norwegian government expressed its concernover the excutions and three UN Special Rapporteurs published a statement.

International Campaign for Human Rights in Iran said that on September 29 several Sunni Kurdish prisoners were tried without the option to choose a lawyer,and Judge Moghisseh of Branch 28 of Tehran Revolutionary Court sentenced all of them to long prison terms.
Karikar Vali Hassan, 18, a resident of Javanrood in Kermanshah Province, was sentenced to 15 years in prison, and Nejad Omar Karim, also from Javanrood, was sentenced to 8 years and Mohiaddin Aziz, a resident of Sanandaj, was sentenced to 8 years in prison.
They were arrested with a large group of other Kurdish Sunni religious group members over the past three years in Javanrood and Sanandaj.

The psychic health of the student Siavash Hatam who is detained in Evinprison ward 350 is bad.He has been sentenced to one year in prison and his sentence of four months in prison was upheld in appeal.
He has been suspended as student at Buali Sina University of Hamadan.

Iran: October 23rd 2012

Ahmad Shaheed, the special rapporteur for human rights in Iran from UN said at a presentation of his report in New York that more than 300 people have been recorded executed in the first eight months of this year in Iran.
He also said that members of the Baha’i community are the most persecuted religious minority in Iran.
Shaheed took his post in June, 2011. He has not been able to visit Iran.

Iran: execution October 22nd 2012

In Zahedan, province Sistan-e-Baluchistan were Saturday 3 men hanged.
The men, Yahya Charizehi, Abdoljalil Kahrazehi, and Abdolbasset Rigi were convicted of bombings in Chabahar and Zahedan in 2010. killing 67 people.
Iranian judiciary says that the men were member of a terroristic group.

October 22 were in Evinprison Saeed Sedighi and nine other prisoners hanged.
According to IRIB Farshid Rostami, Farhad Mashhadi Abolghasem, Ali Darvishi, Abbas Abbasi Namaki, Saeed Sedighi, Hami Rabiei and Mohammad Ali Rabiei were members of a drugsgang in Tehran and convicted of possession of one ton of Shishe (synthetic heroin) in Tehran.
The other group Alireza Molaei, Eshagh (Isac) Lorgi, and Yousef Parmar was convicted of trafficking more than one ton of opium from one of the southern harbors to Tehran.
IHR condemns the execution and urges EU to cancel its scheduled visit to Iran on October 27 as a protest to these executions.

President Ahmadinejad was denied on October 21 to visit Evinprison.
He wanted to visit Ali Akbar Javanfekr who is serving a six-month term.
The Iranian judiciary rejected Ahmadinejad's request, saying the president should be facing "major issues" like the economic crisis instead of "visiting a prison."

Iran: traffic, October 20th, 2012

After Sayd Ahmad Ronaghi,(father of Hossein Ronaghi Maleki) was summoned by the Ministry of Information in Tabriz, said website Kaleme that his family was threathened if Hossein’s brother and sister continue to be active on Facebook or other social networks,they will be arrested.
They also warned the family to not provide information about Hossein’s case to the media.

At least 21 students have died after their bus on October 19 overturned and crashed in a valley at Izeh-Lordegan road in Khuzestan province.
The police said that the driver lost control of the bus because of high speed in rainy weather.
19 others were injured and brought to hospital.

A government official from Tanzania says that Iranian ships are mistakenly signaled their flag state as Tanzania-Zanzibar.
The 14 ships registered in the Pacific island of Tuvalu, transmitted data from Sept. 24 to Oct. 13 to show they changed their names and were flying the Tanzania-Zanzibar flag.

The Saudi coastguard arrested 14 Iranians who tried to enter Saudi Arabia illegally by sea from Kuwait.The ship that dropped them was chased and his captain was arrested. The boat is Iranian registered and the man who drove it is an Iranian national.
The men were being questioned about their motives.
