Iran: announced

Behnoud Shojaee(l) will be executed October 11th and Safar Angooti(r) will be executed October 21.
They both are convicted for murder which they committed when they were 17-year-old.
Execution of Shojaee has been postponed already five times due to international pressure and requests by his lawyer.
Angooti's execution has also being postponed once.
Iran Human rights hopes that the UN and EU and the worldcommunity will do whatever they can to stop these executions, which are clear violations of the international laws that Iran has ratified

Akram Mahdavi maybe will be executed on Sunday. In 2003 she was arrested for murdering her 74-year-old husband. The family of the victim has been invited to be present in Evin at 3 AM next Sunday to witness the execution.
The defenselawyer Mina Jafari was not notified of the coming execution.
When she made inquiries, the judge in charge of executing the court’s ruling denied claims made by the victim’s family about the upcoming execution.
There have been cases in the past where the judiciary had ordered executions without advanced notice

Security forces arrested 12 teachers on Teachers Day who on the occasion of World Teachers Day wanted to gather in the house of Ali Akbar Baghbani, secretary of teachers union.
They all were arrested before the meeting took place and transferred to a undisclosed location. The names of the arrested teachers are:

The physical condition of imprisoned Ayatollah Boroujerdi has severely detoriated Saturday.
He suffers from heart, eye, jaw and teeth, asthma, osteoporosis, Parkinson and kidney diseases.
Despite all this he gets no sick leave for him from prison, but also prison officers have confiscated his drugs.

Parliament Speaker Ali Larijani has been re-elected as the head of Majlis' Principlist bloc by 24 votes .

In the past 6 months are 72 drugsgangs uncovered in Tehran.
More then 4,000 kilograms different narcotics are confiscated. Police seized nearly 601 thousand ecstasy pills and psychoactive drug injections.
Around 26,000 dealers and smugglers were arrested.
Earlier this month, the Tehran police commander had said to clean the Iranian capital of drug dealers and dangerous addicts in a month.

Iran: written


The execution of Abbas Hosseini which was scheduled for October 5th, is postponed.
No further details were provided.
According to Amnesty International the repeated halting at the last minute of his scheduled executions, do nothing except compound his suffering, and that of his family.
A new date for the execution is not set.

Amnesty International said in a statement that she deplores the decision to ban prominent lawyer Abdolfattah Soltani to leave the country.
She said that the actions of Iran's authorities are a breach of the right to freedom of movement, as guaranteed in international law.

Mohammad Mostafaie, defenselawyer of many children who are sentenced to death wrote a letter to the head of judiciary Sadegh Larijani in which he asked for a stay of execution.
He is defenselawyer for convicted 36 children, of which 8 escaped the death sentence and were returned to society.
Unfortunately, three of them, Behnam Zareh, Delaram Darabi en Sayed Mohammad Hejazi were hanged in Shiraz, Rasht en Isfahan.
Currently he is lawyer of Behnoud Shjaie and Safar Angouti, whose cases are in the hands of the criminal tribunal of Tehran, Mohammad Reza Haddadi, Mohammad Jahedi, Rahim Ahmadi Kamalabadi and Amir Amrolehai, with cases handled by the criminal tribunal of Shiraz, Bahman Soleimani in Isfahan and Abbas Hosseini in Mashhad.

The prisonsentence of human rights activist Jafar Eghdami is increased from 5 to 10 years prisonsentence.
In 2008 Eghdami was arrested on his way to Khavaran-cemetary.
In May 2009 he was sentenced to 5 years in prison.In appeal it was this week increased to 10 years.
No new evidence was introduced during the hearing and judge Moghisaee reopened an older case for which Eghadam served 6 yyears already.
He had been found guilty in the past of having ties to anti regime groups.

The Prisoners Committee of Human Rights Activists in Iran reports that in the prison of Urmia, Amir Abdollahnejad has been beaten so hard last week by prisonguards under the order and presence of Akbar Pishehvar,that he had spinal cord injuries.
Because he was left without medical assistance he died October 3rd.

Reformist newspapers Farhang-e Ashti and Arman in Tehran, and Tahlil-e Rooz in Shiraz, who are critical of Ahmadinejad, are banned by Iranian media-authorities.
Since the presidential elections in June are especially newspapers who are critisizing president Ahmadinejad, targeted by authorities.

Iran: trial

Iran Human Rights asks for immediate release of 36 Iranians, who are imprisoned in Bagdad.
These people are imprisoned at the attack on Camp Ashraf (belonging to Iranian opposition organization Mojahedin-e-Khalgh) of July 28 and 29.
Reports say that the court in the city of Khales ordered to release the 36 prisoners immediately .Iraqi police refused and transferred the prisoners to a undisclosed location in Bagdad.
The prisoners went on hungerstrike and are in a bad medical condition.
Amnesty International published a statement asking Iraqi authorities to release the prisoners.

Human Rights Activists reports that political prisoner Fardin Khorami illegally is transferred from the prison in Sanandaj to the Khoram-Abad prison.He serves since 2006 a three years prisonsentence.
Javad Alizadeh and Kaveh Javanmard are illegally transferred to Hamedan prison.
Last week are three prisoners, Shirkoo Moarefi, Habibollah Latifi and Ehsan Fattahian. put in solitary confinement. All three are on deathrow.

Kurdish prisoner Shirin Alamhoobi (Roonahi Rookan) from Makoo, Kurdistan, is transferred to ward 209 of Evinprison for begin of her trial.
She is accused of waging war against God, a crime punishable by death sentence.
She is detained since July 2008.
She is also accused of membership in a Kurdish political party and armed struggle against the state.

Ayatollah Khamenei appointed new IRGCcommanders.
Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Naqdi replaces the cleric Hossein Ta'eb as the new commander of the Basij force.
Brigadier Mohammad Hossein-Zadeh Hejazi is appointed new commander of the Logistics of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
Brigadier General Hossein Salami has been promoted to deputy commander of the IRGC.
Brigadier General Amir Ali Hajizadeh is named as the new commander of the IRGC Aerospace Force.

IRNA reported that a group of prominent opposition prisonerssoon will be released on bail. Among them Kian Tajbakhsh.
Also former vice-president Mohammad Ali Abtahi, journalist Mohammad Atrianfar, Mosharekat party member Saeed Shariati and student activist Abdollah Momeni would be released on bail.
Last week Saeed Hajjarian was released on bail.
36 student activists who were detained after a meeting in Tehran were released one day after being detained.

Iran: searches


Amnesty International reports that Abbas Hosseini, an Afghan who is convicted for a murder he committed when he was 17-year-old, will be executed Monday in Mashhad.
He was sentenced to death in 2004, but the execution was postponed to give the family of the victim another opportunity to accept payment of diyeh (blood money).
The case went also in appeal, but the judge confirmed the verdict.
The family refuses to pardon him in exchange for diyeh.

Yesterday the Telegraph.co.uk revealed that Ahmadinejad was of jewish descent. They based these on a research of the stamps and other things who were visible in his passport.
From this it is known that Ahmadinejad's name is Sabourjian ( cloth weaver).
This (officially jewish family-) name is very common in Aradan, Ahmadinejads birthtown.
The name of the family was changed to Ahmadinejad when they moved to Tehran in 1950.
Robert Tate from English newspaper The Guardian wrote in 2005 an article about the background of Ahmadinejads name.
He wrote that familymembers of Ahmadinejad in Aradan told that the family changed their name when moving to Tehran for religious and economic reasons.

The deputy Minister of Transportation who heads also Iran's Ports and Shipping organization (IPSO), said that Iran will privatize the management of all activities at the ports to the private sector.
The private sector's investment in Iranian ports has reached to around $1.3 billion.
He added that IPSO is ready to rent out all the Iranian ports to the private sector for long-term periods of 20 or 40 years.

Oktober 2nd are in a park in Tehran 15 members of studentgroup Advar Tahkim Vadat arrested.
Their names are:
Mehdi Arabshahi, Milad Asadi, Nasim Sarabandi(F), Ezat Torbati(F), Mona Ghafari(F), Majid Abbasi, Zahra Nikseresht(F), Siyavash Hatam, Hamzeh Moazan, Ahmad Ahmadian, Amir Housien Moazami, Mohamad Rezaie, Hamed Azizi, Sajad Alahaadi, Sara Esmizadeh(F), Farid Hashemi
Website Mowjcamp.com reported that police gave no information to familymembers about where the arrested students were brought.

Humanrights lawyer Abdolfattah Soltani is banned from leaving the country by authorities.
Friday he was halted on Tehran airport as he was about to board a flight to Germany to accept the Nuremberg International Human Rights Award, Sunday.
This award is presented every two years.
Soltani is member of Centre for Human Rights Defenders (CHRD).
This summer Soltani was detained for seven weeks and was released on bail.

Mehrnews reports that the Basij force will be merged into the IRGC ground forces for better coordination.
Since Major General Mohammad Ali Jafari took over the IRGC command, widespread changes have taken place in the IRGC structure .
Reports say that Basij commander Hojjatoleslam Hossein Taeb, will take a new post in the IRGC. He is also a nominee for taking the post of the National Charity Organization director.

Iran: possible

Hossein Alipour,, born June 28, 1989, is sentenced to death for a murder he committed during a fight, when he was 16 years old.
Since then many courtappeals have been made by his lawyers and at the moment he case has been sent to a higher court for confirmation.
According to article 37 in Convention on the Rights of Children, execution and long-term sentencing against individuals under 18 years of age is considered a violation.
According to section 6 of article 5 in the International Convent on Civil and Political Rights, issuing death sentences against children has been strictly forbidden




The Kurdish political prisoner Matin Arjan, 32, is afflicted with a nervous system disorder, and is not receiving proper treatment.
In the past few days, he has experienced nervous system shocks, causing parts of his body including his left shoulder and arm to go numb.
The prison physician says he should be treated by a neurologist, but such a specialist only visits the prison once a month.
Matin serves a prisonterm of ten years.

Journalist Alireza Eshraghi, is September 23 sentenced to five and a half-year jail term.
He was accused of attempts against national security through insults against the leadership and presidential positions, and of playing an active role in illegal gatherings.
He did not have access to a lawyer,and has been tortured severely to appear before camera to the point that when he appeared in the court, his head and one of his hands had bandages.
He is currently being held in quarantined ward 7 inside Evin Prison.

Automobile owners who have taken advantage of the recent unrest by honking their horns excessively and attempting to block the streets maliciously, causing public disturbance, will be summoned.
Tehran gouvernor says they were ordered legal proceeding against automobile owners whose irrational movements have interrupted the public peace and disturbed normal city traffic, and that this is an ordinary ruling and not connected to the recent unrest.

Iran: pressure

Saeed Hajjarian is yesterday released after paying a bail of $200.000
He was arrested June 15.At one of the masstrials last month he confessed having cooperated to the postelection unrest an said he made great mistakes by presenting incorrect analysis.
The reason why Hajjarian, who is severely handicapped since an assault in 2002 is released, was not given.

Reformist cleric Ayatollah Hoseinali Montazeri persists in his criticism of the Iranian government through his public statements
This time he warned Iranian government to draw lessons from the fate of the governments of Iran's late Shah and world despots before it is too late.
He added that it is not possible to govern through "oppression, fear and a police state" filling prisons with thinkers and freedom-seekers.
