In the prison of the city of Arak 2 men have been hanged on Wednesday.
The men were named Ali A. convicted for keeping and possession of 25kg opium and Ahmad A. convicted for possession of 12g heroin and the purchase of 5 kilo and 65g of heroin.

Nasrin Sotoudeh withdraw her appeal against the 11-years prisonsentence after the interrogators told her that the sentence will be upheld by the Appeals Court.

Blogger and journalist Mohammad Ghaznavian started in Choubin Prison in Qazvin his prisonsentence. He was sentenced to 5 years in jail, which was reduced to 6 months in appeal.

Iran: voice and silence
Imprisoned writer and lawyer Nasrin Sotoudeh received the Barbara Goldsmith Freedom to Write Award 2011 .
Sotoudeh was arredted September 4th, 2010 and is sentenced to 11 years in jail for her outspoken advocacy in defense of her clients arrested after the June 2009 elections and interviews she gave to human rights organizations.

In an interview with Roozonline told the father of Behnoud Ramezani that he will pursue the complaint with the judiciary until the individuals responsible for his son’s murder have been identified and put on trial.
Ramezani died March 17 2011, after being beaten by motorcycleagents, resulting in fractures in his hand, foot, and neck, and the rupture of one his testes.
According to the head of security for Tehran he lost his life as a result of a hand grenade detonating in his pant pocket, eyewitnesses rejected this.

The EU imposed assets freezes and travel bans on 32 Iranian officials who are allegedly involved in human rights violations.
The measures were decided at a EUmeeting in Luxembourg, following the USA, who imposed similar sanctions in September 2010.
The list of names will be made public in the EU Official Journal.

In Bahrein one Bahraini and two Iranians are tried for espionage.They are accused of of providing military and economic information to the elite Iranian Revolutionary Guards between 2002 and 2010.
Earlier were three Iranians on trial in Kuwait for the same allegations. March 29 they were sentenced to death.

Near the town of Shiraz crashed a military aircraft yesterday.
The plane was a Russian Sukhoi, the pilot was killed.

In TheAustralian was a report that the deathsentence for Sakineh Ashtiani is uphold because the Supreme Court has said it will not reopen the case. This means she will be executed.

In a letter to the head of the judiciary Larijani wrote Seyed Hashem Khastar,a prisoner at Vakilabadprison in Mashhad the conditions in prison.
The number of inmates inside the prison is now more than four times the normal capacity of the facility.
He also wrote that in August 2010 in one day 63 prisoners were executed.
Originally, this prison has been built for 2,500 prisoners.
Currently there are 13,000 prisoners.

Political prisoners in Rejaishar prison announced Sunday to start a hungerstrike in solidarity with Fakhrosadat Mohtashamipour.
In a statement the prisoners say that they strike in protest of “summoning, arrests, threats and pressures placed on the families of political prisoners, as well as pressures and illegal and inhumane restrictions forced on prisoners.

In the prison of Orumieh 3 men have been hanged on April 7th.
The men, Tohid Massoumidejin, Khaled Esmaili and Massoud Ghavipanjeh were sentenced to death for connection to illegal groups.

The leader of the Freedom Movement of Iran, Ebrahim Yazdi,has disowned and denied statements attributed to him in an interview published by IRNA.
IRNA reports that they received a letter from Yazdi on Tuesday April 5 saying: “I had clearly emphasized to IRNA officials that publishing any statements attributed to me can only be done after receiving my written permission.”
IRNA published the interview with Yazdi after his release.

Iran: alignment
Amnesty International said that the Iranian parliament must scrap a draft law which will seriously undermine independent non-governmental organizations in Iran.
This law, analyzed by the Netherlands-based NGO Arseh Sevom, requires all NGOs in Iran to register with a new and unaccountable body linked to the Intelligence Ministry and to the Basij, which will also be able to revoke registration.
Parts of the bill have already been passed in the Iranian parliament.

The Iranian lawyer and law professor Mohammad Sharif has Tuesday been dismissed by Allame Tabatabai University in Tehran.He told Human Rights reporters Committee that him was handed a letter stating his general qualifications have been rejected and his services have been terminated at the university.

Iran: detained
Leila Tavasoli and Parvin Javadzadeh, who were granted temporary prison leave on March 20, returned to prison.
Javadzadeh serves a prisonsentence of 26 months.She was arrested during the Ashuraprotests.
Tavasoli was arrested after the Ashuraprotests because she disclosed that she witnessed security agents running over and killing a peaceful demonstrator.

Imprisoned blogger Hossein Ronaghi Maleki is still not receiving medical care and his condition deteriorates.
His kidneys are infected but prisonofficials deny him an operation, and said that they could not pay for this prisoner’s surgery.
His parents told prison officials that they would pay for the operation. Despite this, medical care was denied to him.
Maleki is serving a prisonsentence of 15 years.

The European Students’ Union (ESU) has urged the European Commission and UNESCO to release imprisoned Iranian studentleader Bahareh Hedayat, immediately.
Hedayat was arrested December 2009 and is sentenced to 9½ years in prison.

The son of Heshmatollah Tabarzadi, imprisoned head of Iran Democratic Party, told the International Human Rights Campaign in Iran, that a non-political prisoner, who friended his father, was beaten with electric batons and banned from leaving prison on furlough for the new year celebrations by revolutionary guards.
