In the prison of Kashan is on December 17 one man hanged.
The report says that the man was arrested in 2009 and he is convicted for keeping and trafficking of 681 grams of crack.
The man was not named.

A commander of IRGC said on Monday that Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) plans to hold military drills in the Street of Hormuz before the end of the Iranian calendaryear (March 20).

In Tabas, Yazd province a colemine collapsed, killing 4 miners and another four missing. The probable cause is an explosion of gas.

Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei announced on December 13 a Facebookpage. For more than five years the office of Khamenei is active on the internet and he has a Twitteraccount with 72.000 followers and 32000 tweets and an Instagramaccount.
Meanwhile the Iranian government blocks websites, including Facebook and Twitter and Iranian users can only access them through proxies.

Iran critized the EU for awarding the 2012 Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought to human rights lawyer Nasrin Sotoudeh and filmmaker Jafar Panahi
.
The spokesman of the Iranian Foreign Ministry said that the EU had a political goal by giving the prize and should focus on rights shortcomings inside the EU.

Mehdi Hashemi Rafsanjani , son of Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani has been released on bail on December 16, 2012, following completing the investigation.
He was arrested in September accused of inciting unrest following the 2009 Iranian presidential election.

Antiviruscompany Symantec said that Iranian authorities discovered a new computervirus that wipes files on different drives in various predefined times. It also wipes files from the desktop.

Iran: labor December 16 2012


The prices for electricity will increase veey strong next year.
Mehrnews reported that the deputy energy minister said that prices must rise to four times. He also said that Members of Parliament have already agreed to the increase, and the adjustments may come in two or three stages.

December 21 is Shalda Yalda and the birthday of student activist Zia Nabavi. Currently he is serving a prisonterm of 10 years in exile.

On December 2 museum workers in Tehran staged a protest gathering by Cultural Heritage Organization demanding their backwages.
December 4 is an amendment to Labor Law sent to parliament.
While, the text of the amendment was not made public, on the basis of available leaks, it was found to be extremely limiting of some workers’ rights.
December 2 workers of Ahvaz Sugar Factory and their families staged a protest for 22 months of back wages and bonuses by the state office.

US added sanctions to seven Iranian companies and five nuclear experts who work the uranium enrichment program.
Fereidoun Abbasi-Davani, the head of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), and Morteza Ahmadali Behzad, the managing director of Iran Enrichment Company,are two of the individuals.
Aria Nikan Marine Industry, the government led Iran Pooya, which manufactures aluminum cylinders, and Faratech, are among the companies.

According to reports on Kaleme website Mir Hossein Mousavi and Zahra Rahnavard accompanied by  a large number of female and male security agents and prison guards present visited the elderly parents of Zahra Rahnavard.
Their daughters were not allowed to be present and continue to be banned from all visits.

Sanaz Tafazoli a female bahai from Mashhad has been brought to Vakil Abad prison to serve a prisonsentence of 6 months.
In this prison are 6 other female bahai prisoners Sima Eshraghi, Rozita Vaseghi, Nahid Ghadiri, Dori Amri, Nika Kholousi and Nava Kholousi.

Human Rights Watch says that the rights in civil society in Iran have been worsened since the elections of 2009.
In a report HRW writes that dat 3½ years after the elections hundreds of activists have sought temporary refuge and an uncertain future in neighboring Turkey and Iraqi Kurdistan.
The 62-page report “Why they Left: Stories of Iranian Activists in Exile,” documents that dozens of rightsdefenders, journalists, bloggers, and lawyers were targeted by security and intelligence forces because they spoke out against the government.

A source in the office of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei says that Iran infiltrated a group of 10 terroristleaders of the Quds Force in USA to attack from within in 2013. The members of the team lead cells from about 50 terrorists.
The source said the team is to create instability in America through terrorism should the U.S. fail to accept the regime’s nuclear program, increase sanctions, confront Iran militarily or intervene in the Syrian civil war.

Incarcerated journalist Mahsa Amrababdi was arrested in 2009 and 2010 and sentenced to 1 year in prison without suspension and 4 years of suspended prison.
May 11 2012 she was summoned to serve her 1 year prisonterm in Evinprison.
On the occasion of the 200th day of her incarceration her mother wrote a letter.

Nasrin Sotoudeh has written a letter explaining the reasons that led to her 49 days of hungerstrike to protest the travel ban on her 12-year-old daughter.
She expresses hope that family punishments will be eliminated from the list of government policies of threats and pressure.

In the prison of Semnan is on December 10 a man hanged.
The man, M. H. has been convicted of carrying 3470 grams of crack.

Two of the 37 wounded students at the fire in the elementary school in Piranshahr have died.Three students are still in critical condition.
Activists have released a statement asking the resignation of the Minister of Education over this fire and numerous incidents that have befallen students at schools and school camps.

Activist Mahdi Hamidi Shafigh has been arrested in Tabriz to serve a prisonsentence of 21 months after being summoned by the local Intelligence Ministry.
He had been arrested in September along with 28 others and charged with conspiring against national security.

The securitychief in Yemen asked Iran to stop training and funding Shi’ite Muslim rebels who, along with al Qaeda-backed Islamists and southern separatists, are staging the unrest in Yemen.

The British bank HSBC agreed to pay $1.9 billion to settle money-laundering charges.

Iran: pressure December 10, 2012

Kaleme reports that the security agents in charge of the house arrest of Mir Hossein Mousavi and Zahra Rahnavard, have refused responsibility for providing food for the couple for some time now. Instead they made the family responsible for their food supply, this while the family members have no means to verify the quantity and quality of the food that is in actuality provided to their parents. They hand over the food to the security agents at the gate, who then supposedly deliver the food to their detained parents.
Since November they had no contact to their parents.

Iran: further December 8, 2012

According to IRNA were on December 8 in the prison of Zahedan 3 men hanged.
Their names are Iraj M. convicted of possession of 189 kilos of heroin, Mahmood T. convicted for possessing and carrying 386 kilos of opium and 149 kilos of heroin, and Nematollah A. for the import of 5700 grams of crack.

The Iranian Health minister urged the Central Bank to provide the necessary foreign currency to import urgently needed medical drugs.
She said there are no restrictions on the import of these items, and if the bank provides the adequate amount of foreign currency, they can be obtained.
She also said that $2.5 billion dollars needs to be provided.

Iran: more December 8, 2012

At least 27 girls suffered burns as a result of a fire caused by an oil heater at an elementary school in the village of Shin Abad in the city of Piranshahr, which is located in  West Azerbaijan Province.
37 students were attending the class. After the heater caught fire, the teacher called one of the service staff to take the heater out of the class instead of taking the students out of the room, and the heater fell from his hands and the fire spread.
A number of the wounded sustained burns over more than 50 percent of their bodies.
The incident raised multiple questions.

At a carcrash on Zahedan-Zabol highway in Sistan-Baluchestan province 9 people were killed and 2 others were wounded.
