Iran: transfer

The head of the teachers union in Iran Ali-Akbar Baghani has been arrested Monday by plainclothed security agents. He was teaching at school in Tehran.
It is said that up to 1,000 teachers have been arrested in the course of the protests.
The rights group of Iranian Nobel Peace Prize winner Shirin Ebadi has condemned the detention of teachers during the recent weeks.



The two Swedish nationals convicted to 2 years in prison for photographing military installations on Queshm island, are released on Monday.
Stefan Johanssen en Jari Hjartmar were handed over to Sweden while journalists and Iranian and Swedish authorities attended the ceremony.




Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Mohammad-Ali Hosseini said on Sunday that USA should provide more information about Robert Levinson , who disappeared on Kish island.
Tuesday Iran denied it was holding the missing American.
Government spokesman Gholam Hossein Elham told that USA says that someone entered Kish. Iranian and US officials are investigating and following up this issue. Both sides are trying to obtain additional information. There was no arrest.

In Iran there are childoffenders, still on death row.
