Iran: condition

The lashing sentence for 14 derwishes who were sentenced to 25 lashes and 91 days of suspended prisonsentence, is carried out. They were sentenced for disturbing public order by gathering in front of the court and the Gonabad Prison.
Their names are: Saeid Kashani, Amir Roshan Mojaver Soufi, Ali Mohammad Amanian, Rouhollah Safari, Ali abbasi Beidokhti, Ebrahim Abbaszadeh, Mohammad Ali Jafari, Hossein Mahdavi, Hossein Abbaszadeh Beidokhti, Rahmat Hosseini, Reza Kakhaki, Behrouz Mojaver Soufi, Ali Mir, and Hassan Belouchi-Beidokhti .

Pars Daily News writes that Kurdish political prisoner Kamal Sharifi is in critcal condition on the 30th day of his hungerstrike. He is transferred to the prisoninfirmary.
Sharifi is convicted in 2008 to 30 years in prison for trying to overthrow the Iranian regime.
He is already 3 years in Minabprison and has been sentenced to prison without the right to visits.

The daily Sharq writes that Iranian prisons hold eight times more prisoners than its capacity and that in some prisons the prisoners sleep on the stairs from lack of space.
The head of Prison Organization said that the official capacity of prisons in the country is 55,000 prisoners, but more than 220,000 people are currently in prison.
A member of parliament said that condition of a number of prison buildings is poor and prisoners are kept in unsuitable sanitary conditions so they can get ill.
