Iran: sweets?

t least four workers at a sugar factory in Eslamabad-e Gharb. were killed and 15 wounded Sunday when they were hit by solid sugar loaf molds.
The accident happened when the molding machine malfunctioned and the molds felt of the machine.Three workers were killed instantly, a fourth died on his way to the hospital.



Iran-daily reports Ebrahim Nekounam, Director general of Sistan and Baluchestan’s Justice Department said Saturday, a large part of judicial affairs related to the Sunni minority will be handled by Sunni clerics commonly known here as Molavis .
He said the Sunni elders will handle personal affairs including divorce, inheritance and wills.
Implementation of the rare program is expected to help cooperation and harmony in the border province and reduce tensions.
“We are in the 21st century and there is no more room for ethnic or tribal clashes. The time has come to step out of traditionalism,“



The government has allowed the private sector to import wheat at the market prices. The measure is aimed at encouraging exports of the wheat products as well as fulfilling domestic needs.
Over 40,000 tons of wheat has been imported by the private sector in the current year (Iranian year started March 20, 2006).
An official with the Commerce Ministry said also that the ideal situation is when the private sector imports wheat and after processing it into downstream products - such as biscuits, pastries, chocolates and the like - exports them.
