Iran: names

According to Iran News agency is the central mosque of the university of Tehran in use by the core of the Basij as a center to discuss which issues they maintain that day. This varies from attacking dorms and gather information about students to removing slogans from walls and putting up posters.
De groupsleader passes this information to the Revolutionary Guards intermediary.

The International Committee Against Executions reports 63 political prisoners in Iran in imminent danger of execution.
The list includes 28 people from Kurdestan, 12 people from Sistan & Balouchestan, 12 people from Ahvaz and 11 people from Tehran.
Humanrightsorganizations and political parties from all over the world are asked to protest against these executions and to do everything in their power to prevent and stop these executions in Iran.

Iran: illegal

Two men are hanged today in Tehran.
The men, "Masoud" and "Mohammad" are convicted for raping a woman in Lavasan.
Originally the execution was scheduled for last Wednesday.

Today 16 people are on trial in connection with postelection protests.
IRNA reports that 5 of the defendants are accused of being "mohareb" (enemies of God) and "corrupt on earth." These crimes are punishable by death.
The other defendants are accused of "gathering and conspiring against security, propaganda against the system, and seeking to harm security by inciting unrest and riot," .

The International Campaign for Human Rights in Iran published an audio interview with the lawyer from Arash Rahmani Pour who was executed January 28th.
This shows that not only was the execution carried out in secrecy, but not even the families were informed.

Different sources told the International Campaign for Human Rights in Iran that the arrested members of the Committee of Human Rights Reporters are under pressure to deliver forced confessions about ties of the Committee with the Mojahedin Khalq Organization (MKO).
The members of the CHRR have been denied the right to an attorney, in violation of Article 35 of the Constitution.
In the recent six months has the pressure on CHRR been increased and after the “group arrest warrant” seven members were arrested: Shiva Nazarahari, Kouhyar Goudarzi, Saeed Kalanaki, Mehrdad Rahimi, Parisa Kakaie, Saeed Haeri, and Saeed Jalalifar.
Two others, Saeed Habibi and Hessam Misaghi are in hiding.
Navid Khanjai and Sepehr Atefi
are repeatedly threatened by government authorities.
Some of the arrested individuals who are charged with moharebeh and who have been threatened with death sentences are: Ali Mehrabi, Parviz Varmaziari, Majid Rezaee, Alireza Nabavi, Ali Massoumi, and Shirin Alam Holi.

Iran: reporting

Five human rights advocacy groups started a worldwide campaign against the executions in Iran.
The name of thee campaign is "346 No execution Campaign" and its goal is that in each of the participating countries at least 346 people send a petition to their Foreign Ministry and request diplomatic pressure be applied to the government of Iran to abolish its death penalty.
The five participating organizations are: The Iranian Homosexual Human Rights Councils (Canada, United States), OutRage! (United Kingdom), The Hirschfeld-Eddy Foundation (Germany) en de Everyone Group (Italy).
They hope that more organizations will join.
The name of the group 346, is based on the official figure of executions carried out in Iran in 2008, according to the latest Amnesty International report.

Bloggers Mehrdad Rahimi, Shahidayeshahr blog, and Kouhiar Goudarzi, kouhyar.wordpress.com),are accused of moharebe(enmity with god).



Both are members of “Committee of Human Rights Reporters", ” which was created by students and bloggers after the election.
January 22 the state prosecutor of Tehran declared the Committee an offspring of the outlawed People’s Mujahedeen Organisation and that any collaboration with its website was therefore banned.
Other bloggers who are also a member of the Committee were arrested in recent weeks. These are Parisa Kakei, Shiva Nazar Ahari, Said Kanaki and Said Jalali .They all are detained in Evinprison, ward 209.
They can be sentenced to death.

Amnesty International published a report about the election 2009 in Iran and the repression.





January 25 are in Mashhad the Bahai Bahman Yazdani and Vesal Mohammadi arrested.
The appeal's court in Mazandaran confirmed the sentences against 2 Bahai, Pegah Sanaei is convicted to pay a fine of $ 70. Firouzeh Yegan-Asadi is sentenced to 6 months in prison.They were convicted for propagation against the regime and supporting illegal organizations.

Iran: executed

This morning are two men hanged who were sentenced to death after the postelection protests.





The men, Mohammadreza Alizamani (37) and Arash Rahmanpour (19) were tried on the showtrials and sentenced for moharebe and being member of armed groups and trying to topple the Islamic establishment,
Both were arrested before the protests and were forced to forged confessions.
Official newssite PressTV reports that both were members of the banned Iran Royal Association and were involved in the Shirazbombings of 2008.

Nine people are also in appeal sentenced to death for participating in the protests of recent months and on ashura, December 27.
They all are convicted for moharebe, enmity with god, taking part in "counterrevolutionary and norm-breaking acts and rioting" in recent months and being members of the Kingdom Assembly or the Mujahedeen Khalq Organization(MKO).

In Mashhad are 15 students suspended by the disciplinary committee for one or more terms of university and one student is forced to change campus.v

IRNAnewsagency reported that January 26, a man was hanged in public in Isfahan.
The man, Jamshid Hadian, 59, was convicted from shooting and killing in 2009 of the prosecutor of Isfahan.

The U.S. State Department is concened about the welfare of three U.S. hikers.
Since October has Iran refused to allow Swiss diplomats to visit the hikers in Tehran's Evin Prison.
Josh Fattal, 27, Shane Bauer, 27, and Sarah Shourd, 31 are in solitary detention since July.

In a letter to the employees of the Iranian Embassy in Japan, former embassy counseler Abolfazl Eslami urged them to distance themselves from the oppression and violence of the islamitic republic. This is the first time that an Iranian diplomat in East Asia resigns from his post.
In recent weeks there were reports that several Iranian diplomats have also reportedly resigned from their posts in Europe.

Iran: purpose

One day befor the assasination of Dr. Ali Mohammadi his house was raided by agents of the Ministry of Information and were documents confiscated.
Two weeks prior to his assassination the professor resigned from all responsibilities of cooperating with nuclear organizations.
After the assasination his family was threatened by intelligence agents in order to prevent the possibility of news circulating about the raid on the house.

Dr. Abbas Kazemi, a Communications professor at Tehran University’s Department of Social Sciences, was dismissed for attending the funeral ceremonies of dissident Grand Ayatollah Seyed Ali Montazeri.
International Campaign for Human Rights in Iran writes that blogger and former detainee of the post-electional events Somayeh Tohidloo, a student, writes among other things in her blog that the letter of dismissal states that Dr. Abbas Kazemi was seen in the crowd at Ayatollah Montazeri’s funeral procession, and it has been claimed that he was chanting slogans.

Iran: watched

Wednesday January 27 is a man scheduled to be hanged in Isfahan.
The man, Jamshid, 53 is convicted for murdering the chief prosecuter of Isfahan in March 2009. The daily Etemaad writes that he will be hanged in front of "Shahid Tolaei judiciary complex" .

Iran: number

At least 46 passengers are wounded when an airplane caught fire while trying to land in the Mashhad airport.
The airplane from Taban Airlines came from Abadan en was scheduled to land local time 07.00 hrs, when the tail caught fire. Officials say the incident happened due to bad weather conditions. No fatalities were reported but the number of the wounded is expected to rise.

In an interview with Panjereh Weekly, has the father from Kahrizakvictim Mohsen Ruholamini said that Ramin Aghazadeh Gharemani is identified as the fourth victim from the Kahrizakdetentiecentre.




Mohammad Kamrani, Mohsen Ruholamini, en Amir Javadifar are the other victims.
Aghazadeh died after his release from Kahrizak.Abdolhossein Ruholamini stated that authorities did not release reports on the fourth victim of Kahrizak, because they believed that it would harm the conscience of society.
Parlementarian reports say that Saeed Mortazavi, the prosecutor for Tehran is responsible for the events in Kahrizak.

Thursday Iran announced that the height of cash-withdrawals is limited.
Each day an accountholder may take no higher withdrawal then 150 million Rials, or about $15.000.
The stateradio said that the limit would serve to battle money-laundering , but analysts say that the decision is more aimed at cutting inflation by limiting liquidity to fight inflation and the downgoing economy.
The restriction went in effect January 21st.

Statetelevision reported that Saturday a passengertrain derailed at Azadvar station in Joqatai on the traject Mashhad to Tehran.At least 7 people were killed and 12 were wounded, 4 severe.

The studentsAlireza Firoozi and Soorna Hashemi have been missing since early this week.
According to reports of the Committee of Human Rights Reporters, have the two students early this week left for Tabriz, but disappeared after arrival.

Alireza Beheshti, suffered a heart-attack, Hassan Ahmadian was transferred to hospital with serious kidneyproblems.The lifes of Ebrahim Yazdi, Mohammad Maleki, and Emadeddin Baghi, are in danger. Alborz Ghasemi, who served a lifelong prisonsentence for moharebeh, has died of gastric cancer due to prison officials’ failure to provide him with medical treatment. Monireh Rabiei, 32, is sentenced to 5 years in prison based on her family’s connection to an uncle who is a resident of Camp Ashraf in Iraq.
She is suffering from acute respiratory distress and an extreme case of allergies. Since her arrest she has been tortured and she has not been given access to her medications. Since she is transferred to ward 350,she is denied to wear warm clothes,this while there is no heating in ward 350.
October 7 she was arrested and accused of answering a phone call from her uncle in *Camp Ashraf.

Saba Vasefi, researcher, humanrights and womanrights activist, who worked at Shahid Beheshti University is dismissed from work.
Samira Sadri, of the Policy-Making Council of Advare Tahkim Vahdat and womansrightsactivist is suspended as a teacher. In december she is dismissed.
November is Narges Mohammadi, a member of Centre for Human Rights Defenders and womansrightactivist is suspended and dismissed in December.
Universityprofessors are also dismissed.
Seyed Morteza Mardiha, philosophy professor at Allameh Tabatabae’i University, is suspended from university.
JARAS writes that the decision for his expulsion was made by the philosophy department, under heavy pressures from the university’s President.
