Iran: reporting

Five human rights advocacy groups started a worldwide campaign against the executions in Iran.
The name of thee campaign is "346 No execution Campaign" and its goal is that in each of the participating countries at least 346 people send a petition to their Foreign Ministry and request diplomatic pressure be applied to the government of Iran to abolish its death penalty.
The five participating organizations are: The Iranian Homosexual Human Rights Councils (Canada, United States), OutRage! (United Kingdom), The Hirschfeld-Eddy Foundation (Germany) en de Everyone Group (Italy).
They hope that more organizations will join.
The name of the group 346, is based on the official figure of executions carried out in Iran in 2008, according to the latest Amnesty International report.

Bloggers Mehrdad Rahimi, Shahidayeshahr blog, and Kouhiar Goudarzi, kouhyar.wordpress.com),are accused of moharebe(enmity with god).



Both are members of “Committee of Human Rights Reporters", ” which was created by students and bloggers after the election.
January 22 the state prosecutor of Tehran declared the Committee an offspring of the outlawed People’s Mujahedeen Organisation and that any collaboration with its website was therefore banned.
Other bloggers who are also a member of the Committee were arrested in recent weeks. These are Parisa Kakei, Shiva Nazar Ahari, Said Kanaki and Said Jalali .They all are detained in Evinprison, ward 209.
They can be sentenced to death.

Amnesty International published a report about the election 2009 in Iran and the repression.





January 25 are in Mashhad the Bahai Bahman Yazdani and Vesal Mohammadi arrested.
The appeal's court in Mazandaran confirmed the sentences against 2 Bahai, Pegah Sanaei is convicted to pay a fine of $ 70. Firouzeh Yegan-Asadi is sentenced to 6 months in prison.They were convicted for propagation against the regime and supporting illegal organizations.
