Iran: chain

1998, public in Iran was horrified by brutal murders of numerous prominent intellectuals,which murders also got known as the “chain murders”.
Lateron it was revealed that the murders had been an “inside-job” sanctioned on by then-Deputy Minister of Intelligence and Security Saeed Emami. The Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS) blamed the killings on “rogue agents”.
In order to rectify the negative impact of the "chain murders" the government inevitably performed a "cleanup"action on the Ministry and 1000 MOIS agents got fired.
The agents had a reputation for ruthlessness and were operating under direct command of aides to Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
Since hard-liner Mahmoud Ahmadinejad became President, Khamenei has been working to revive the ministry.
According to the National Council of Resistance in Iran Khamenei recently ordered Interior Minister Mostafa Pour-Mohammadi to incorporate the 1000 agents into the Interior Ministry, the judiciary, and the MOIS.
Mostafa Pour-Mohammadi has a long history of human rights abusal and was as Deputy Intelligence Minister involved at the "chain murders".



In Bandar Abbasprison, province Hormuzgan, a man named Parviz Minaki was hanged. He was accused of repeated instances of robbery.





In Iran deathpenalty is in use. Also for child offenders.

Children are being hanged to death.
