Iran: absolution

During the new trial on January 10, 2007, from Nazanin Fatehi, the five judges presiding over the case found inconsistencies with the testimonies of the male witnesses and unanimously ruled out premeditated murder.
Since january 2006 there have been worldwide actions to rescue Nazanin from deathpenalty.
The International Committee Against Execution, Amnesty International, Canadian members of Parliament, the European Union, the United Nations and a by 330,000 persons undersigned petition finally resulted to this.
The judges acknowledged the fact it was selfdefence and commuted the deathsentence.
However she used excessive force while trying to defend herself and her niece, so she was convicted to pay dieh "blood money", to the victims relatives.
As Nazanins family is very poor, her lawyer went to appeal. Because such appeal takes several months, the court set a bail from $40,000.
After payment she can be released from prison immediately.
In Canada a trustfund is founded. Through http://www.helpnazanin.com/Donations.aspx people can donate.

In Iran there are more childoffenders, still on death row.

Children are being hanged to death.
A child will be hanged to death.
