61 people were arrested in connection with the smuggling of goods, including fuel, automobiles, cigarettes and alcohol worth 4,776,000,000 rials(394.909,77 EUR) along with 43 traffickers and 175 drug addicts.
The police chief added that 49 stolen vehicles were recovered and 18 people were arrested with illegal firearms.
2,710 illegal Afghans were arrested and sent to camps for deportation.
Gas consumption grew 45 percent during Nov. 22-December 22, 2006 compared to the figure for the corresponding period the previous year.Due to the cold weather in most parts of Iran, gasconsumption has increased.

The total cost of pipeline construction and laying project are estimated at $1.3 billion rials (107.487,86 EUR)
