Iran: take your pick

The Iranian intelligence ministry has accused a leading reformist MP, Noureddine Pir Mouazen, of committing treason by speaking to broadcaster Voice of America.
The Intelligence Minister, Gholam Hossein Mohseni Ejeie,said to IRNA that this definitely has been treason and an appalling act and that the intelligence ministry will certainly probe this and will not ignore it.
Pir-Mouazen criticized the the disqualification of reformist candidates for the election.

Press-TV writes that an opinion poll suggests that over 60 percent of Iranians are expected to participate in the parliamentary elections.
28% of the people in Tehran said they would vote for the principalists (Osoulgarayan), while 15 percent planned to vote for reformists.
In other Iranian cities these percentages are 30% and 17%.
The survey noted that, based on these figures, principalists are twice as much likely to win as the reformists.
The election campaigns are legally ended and tomorrow 08.00AM local time the polling stations open.


700 Iranian and 450 foreign companies from 23 countries have applied to participate in the 13th International Exhibition of Oil, Gas, and Petrochemical Industries and Products, which is held from April 16 to April 20 at Permanent International Fairground in Tehran.
So far, companies from France, Russia, Germany, Britain, Norway, Japan, China, the United Arab Emirates, Switzerland, Austria, Ukraine, Spain, Belgium, Poland, Romania, South Korea, the Netherlands, Belarus, India, and Hong Kong have applied to participate in the exhibition.
Foreign companies have been very interested in investing in Iran’s oil and gas sectors.
