Iran: showing


According to IRNA is Wednesday in the prison of the city Semnan a man hanged.
The man, P.P., 31, was accused of stabbing another man to death.
He was hanged in the presence of police and judicial officials.


An Afghan police official said to Reuters that Iranian security forces killed Tuesday 13 Afghan refugees in Herat on the Afghan site of the Iran/Afghanistan border.
He said also that a protest letter is sent.
He told that the dead were no smugglers.


Hossein Mousavian,a former nuclear negotiator for Iran is Tuesday sentenced by the fifth branch of the Islamic Revolution Court, to a two-year suspended jail term and five years of suspension from holding state jobs.
He is found guilty on Article 507 of Iran's criminal law.
Last year May he was arrested on charges of espionage and briefly detained in jail until he was released on bail.
Fars reports that he spared a more severe punishment in recognition of his remarkable services and commendable background.


Several months after an Iranian court convicted him of endangering national security and insulting authorities, Hadi Ghabel is Monday jailed.
He was taken to jail after he was invited for questioning at the Clerical Court in the city of Qom.
Hadi Ghabel was convicted in September and sentenced to 40 months in jail and ordered to be defrocked.
Ghabel is a prominent member of Iran's largest reform party, the Islamic Iran Participation Front.
He is considered a key link between reformers and top Shiite clerics in Qom.



Two religious Sunni teachers from Sistan-va-Balochistan province are sentenced to death after making false confessions under severe tortures.
They were arrested after the security forces attacked the base of Peoples Resistance Movement (PRMI) of Iran in which attack 8 people were killed.
The witnesses who live in the neighbourhood claimed that those who were killed were innocent people who lived in the area or were studying at the theological school.
Six people were arrested of which 4 people were released.
Moulavi Mohammad Yousuf Sohrabi en Moulavi Abdol Qoddoos Mollazehi were accused of being members of the Jondollahgroup.
April 6 they were shown on Iranian official television where they confessed.They looked distressed and desperate and there were scars of torture in their movements.
Former detainees who had seen them in the prison revealed that they have been brutally tortured and beaten.


April 6 another four newspapers got banned
by the Commission for Press Authorisation and Surveillance for “failing to publish regularly”.
The names of the newspapers are Sobh Varzesh, Imen Gostar, Laleh and Gozineh Pjoheshjar Jahan. . The ban was imposed under article 16 of the press law.
At the same time the security apparatus imposes silence on the families of imprisoned journalists not to reveal their arrest, especially to the foreign media. When they do, they " are exposing themselves to the possibility of punishment.”
