In the prison of Rajaee Shahr(Gohardasjt) in Karaj are 3 men hanged.
Edris Nazari (32), Hassan Kalaani (28) and Davoud Mohammadi (27) were convicted for murder.
They have been in prison for 6 to 8 years.
Human Rights Watch News Agency of Kurdistan in Sanandaj reported that a court date has been set for the trial of Hana Abadi, womens right activist and a member of the One Million Signatures Campaign. The date is set for May 6 2008 in the 2nd Branch of the Revolutionary Courts in Sanandaj.
Hana Abadi has spent 7 months after her arrest in the female ward of Sanandaj’s public ward.
Iran’s Nuri Choir conducted by Alireza Shafaqinejad is to perform Carl Orff’s “Carmina Burana” at the Vahdat Hall, Tehran, from May 13 to 16.
It is the first time for the 140 member choir, they perform the piece.
The children’s choral union of “Pars” will also be accompanying the group in the 75-minute performance.
The "Carmina Burana" is composed by Carl Orff between 1935 and 1936.
The original arrangement is composed for two piano's, percussion, solists, mixed choir and children’s choir.
The conductor said that they could not perform the second arrangement with orchestra because of insufficient funding.
The most famous piece is "O Fortuna".
