Iran: accountability

According to daily Etemad, studentleader Bahram Vahedi, head of Zanjan University Islamic Association of Students, is released on a two billion rial bail.
He and other students were arrested after Zanjan university students protested the university vice-president's sexual harassment of a female student.
Studentactivist Sorena Hashemi who was imprisoned for a month in connection of the protests at Zanjan university and the publishing of a videoclip about it, is released on a 200 million Toman bail.
Release of studentactivists Arash Raeiji and Payam Shakiba and other detained students is still unknown.


Daily Farda reported that fourteen Iranian ministers are summoned to appear before parliament this week.
The Science Minister Mohammad-Mehdi Zahedi, Education Minister Ali-Reza Ali-Ahmadi, Oil Minister Gholam-Hossein Nozari, new appointed Minister of Economy and Finance Shamsoddin Hosseini, Minister of Welfare and Social Security Abdoreza Mesri and Foreign Minister Manuchehr Mottaki are among them.


Despite the fact that the quotum of 74 parlementarians had signed a motion to summone President Ahmadinejad to appear in parliament, the speaker for parliament was reluctant.
Ahmadinejad had to appear before parliament to explain Vice President Rahim-Mashaie 's remarks about Israel.
