Said Rezevi Fagih,activist for the rights of the South-Azerbaijani is arrested on Imam Khomeini airport in Tehran.
Fagih, who went to study in France 4 years ago, was arrested on arrival in Iran for a familyvisit.
He is transferred to Evinprison.
Five years ago he was detained for two months for for participation in the students' movement.
It is unclear, which charges he faces. He is accused of cooperation with reformist newspapers in Iran.
The court in Tabriz has sentenced students Sajad Radmekhr, Aydin Khajei, Feraz Zehtab, Amir Merdani, Ehsan Najafi, Mejid Makui, Dariyush Khatemi to one year in prison on charges of propaganda against the state regime of Iran and creation of an illegal grouping to violate the national security.
Maksud Akhdi and Mansur Aminyan were released of all charges.
The students were arrested July 2008 by security bodies in Tabriz.
Former president Khatami, who told just last week he will not run for president, has according to various newsagencies changed his mind about this.
PRessTV writes that Tuesday while meeting a consultative reformist committee, he said that he is going to run in the elections.

There will be new attempts to find out the whereabouts of since 2007 on the island Kish missing American Robert Levinson.
Rumours are that he has been arrested and is detained in a secret Iranian prison.
According to an American senator on several diplomatic occasions when Bob Levinson's name has been brought up to Iranian officials, the standard answer was: 'We don't know anything about that.' But the next thing out of the Iranian officials' mouths were to discuss the matter of the Iranians held by the Americans in Iraq.
