Iran: moving images

January 28th are two men hanged in Adelabad prison in Shiraz.
Daily Etemaad writes that one man was convicted for murdering his wife, five years ago and the other man (29) was convicted for murdering a man .

On the International Film Festival Rotterdam won the film "Calm Down and Count to Seven" (Aram Bash va ta Haft Beshmar) from Iranian director Ramtin Lavvafipour a Tiger Award.
The two other winners were Turkey and South Korea.
The price is 15,000euro each and broadcasting of the winning films on Dutch tv by Dutch tv-broadcaster VPRO.


Newsagency Fars reports that ex-president Khatami is not running in the next presidential polls.
He said on Friday that he expects problems when he runs and that he is afraid this increases the cost people would have to pay.
Also Mir Hossein Mousavi's candidacy is not sure.
Reformist Mehdi Karoubi has announced his candidacy.
President Ahmadinejad and conservative mayor of Tehran, Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf announced their candidacy.
