Iran: weigh

The American-Iranian journalist Roxana Saberii was tried in court Monday on charges of espionage.
The spokesman for Iran's judiciary said that the verdict is delivered in the next three weeks.
Saberi is since January detained in Evin prison. The last six years she worked in Iran as a njournalist, however her accreditation was revoked two years ago.

Mojtaba Samareh Hashemi, a top-advisor and aide to president Ahmadinejad has resigned.In his letter he said that he wanted to have other responsibilities.
It is said that the President has appointed Hashemi as head of his re-election campaign.
Hashemi has worked as top-advisor since 2005 and has also served as deputy interior minister for political affairs.

Mehr reports that the minister of energy said that the recent rainfalls have dispensed with the need for rationing water to Tehran and other cities struck by drought.
He said that the recent precipitation was unprecedented in 40 years.
He also said that there is more rain expected, that will ease any remaining concerns about water shortage during summer.

Iran has given Royal Dutch Shell and Repsol a 45-day deadline to clarify their involvement in phases 13 and 14 of the South Pars Project.
When the two companies fail to announce their final decision within the time limit, Iran will start talks with other companies.
Phases 13 and 14 concern the development of production and exports of liquefied natural gas (LNG).
Shell and Repsol made a deal with National Iranian Oil Company in 2002 to invest in phase 13.
In 2008, Royal Dutch Shell, however, delayed decisions on multi-billion dollar investments in phase 13 plans due to political pressures.
