Iran: the dead

According to sources in Iran more than 19 people were shot dead and several dozens wounded by the shots fired at the demonstrators.
Some reports say that snipers shot people at the lower parts of the body and those wounded were taken away in basij vans to undisclosed locations.
There also have been protest demonstrations in other Iranian cities such as Shiraz and Isfahan.
Human Rights Activists in Iran reported that the phone lines of Tehran’s Evin prison were cut off while many of those arrested were transferred to this prison.

BBC reports that state TV says that at least 10 people were killed and more than 100 wounded when police clashed in Tehran on Saturday. Also two petrol stations and a mosque were set on fire. Earlier television mentioned 13 deads, but this figure was then reduced.
The reports cannot be verified as foreign media in Iran are being severely restricted.
Minister Mottaki accused UK and other foreign countries for interfering in the presidential poll. state TV said members of the exiled opposition group Mujahideen Khalq Organisation (MKO) had been arrested for "terrorist activities" and have been accused been burning buses and smashing public property - and had been taking orders from their operation room in the UK.
