Iran: unknown

Iran Human Rights reports that hardline newspaper Kayhan (fa) reports that the person who took the film showing Neda Agha Soltan being killed by a bullet has been arrested and confessed participation in planning the shooting at Neda.
Mahmood Amiry-Moghaddam, the spokesperson of Iran Human Rights said that arrested pro-democracy demonstrators in Iran could be in danger of torture, forced confessions and possibly execution.
He also said these constructed TV-confessions will be used by the government of Iran to intimidate those who are sending pictures and reports of the demonstrations to the international media.
He emphasized that several hundred detainees are in risk of torture, forced confessions and execution, and he asked the world community and UN to intervene and guarantee the safety and humane treatment of those who were arrested.

Amnesty International has urged Iran to release dozens of journalists arrested since 12 June and who are at risk of torture in detention.
Dozens of journalists, some who also campaigned for either Mir Hossein Mousavi or Mehdi Karroubi, have been detained in the past fortnight with their whereabouts mostly unknown.
Around 20 of 25 employees of the newspaper Kalameh Sabz arrested at their office in Haft Tir Square on 22 June are still detained and their whereabouts remain unknown.
The newspaper established by presidential candidate Mir Hossein Mousavi, has not been published since 14 June.
Since the announcement on 13 June that President Ahmadinejad had won the election, Iran has imposed severe restrictions on freedom of expression.
Internet access has been blocked or significantly interrupted. Iranian publications have been banned from publishing information about the unrest. Foreign news journalists have been banned from the streets, and some foreign reporters have been expelled from the country.
