Iran: justice?

In Evinprison have 2 people died because of lack of medical attention.
One, a 60-year-old man suffered a heartattack after having heartproblems before and the other, a 30-year-old male died of internal bleedings.
Hamed Rouhinejad is in urgent need of medication, he suffers from MS and Jafar Ebrahimi has a damaged C3-4 disc in his neck and has had several panic attacks. Both men were refused to have medicaments.
Abbas Khorsandi was hospitalized at Taleghani hospital and his condition has deteriorated since his admission to the hospital.

Two employees of Rajai-Shahr Prison have been transferred to another prison for having sexual relationship with female inmates.Human Rights Activists has also received different rapports about violence and rape in this prison.
The former security chief of the prison, Khadem, was forced to marry a female inmate after news of his relationship became public. He was first transferred to Ghohar-Dasht Prison as lieu of work but was fired later.
Also is a former warden, Haj Mohammad Shekari, sentenced to prison for trafficking young Iranian girls to Persian Gulf countries. He is currently the head of Basiji prisoners in Rajai-Shahr prison.

The chief inspector in Karaj’s Rajai-Shahr prison asked other inmates to rape two prisoners of conscience upon their arrival at prison.
Human Rights Activists got reports that two post election detainees were exiled to Karaj’s Rajai-Shahr prison at the beginning of this week. During the showtrials IRIB had shown these two on television.
Prisonofficials decided to place them in Ward 1, the same ward that was the scene of the deadly riots.
Prison chief inspector, Reza Torabi, whose responsibilities do not include prisoner placement, personally took the two protesters to ward 1.He asked other inmates explicitly and openly to rape the two newcomers as many times as they possibly could.
Currently, the two are still being held in ward 1 and do not have outside contact.
October 25th, HRA reported about the rape of Abdollah Hemati.
Following public outrage over Hamati’s rape, prison officials forced him to deny the rape allegations in a video interview.
Official newspapers had repeatedly published stories in the past of sexual abuse incidents at Rajai-Shahr Prison.

International Campaign for Human Rights in Iran reports that the judiciary in Iran denies in illegal acts the lawyer of Kian Tajbahksh to appeal against his 15 years prisonsentence.
Tabakshs is sentenced October 18th and a defendant has 20 days to file an appeal.
Till now judiciary officials have repeatedly refused to allow Tajbakhsh’s lawyer to file the required paperwork.

Mohammed Ghoochani, editor-in-chief- of Etemad-e Melli newspaper was according to ILNA released yesterday, after paying $100.000 bail after 131 days in prison.
He has taken a taxi home.




Hossein Derakhshan is in prison since November 1st, 2008. He has spent nearly 10 months in solitary confinement during which he was subjected to beatings to coerce him to make false confessions of having ties to the CIA and Israeli intelligence services.
Currently he is in Evinprison without having a lawyer and without knowing the charges.
In addition to Derakhshan, dozens of Iranian journalists, intellectuals, and activists are also held without charge and with no respect for due process principles and judicial transparency, among them: Keyvan Samimi, Bahman Ahmadi Amoie, Abdollah Momeni, Mohammad Maleki, Ahmad Zeidabadi, Hangameh Shahid, Saeed Leylaz, Azar Mansouri, Shapour Kazemi, Issa Saharkhiz, Mohammad Reza Moghiseh, Fariba Pezhuh, Mostafa Tajzadeh, Abdollah Ramezanzadeh, Behzad Nabavi, Mohsen Mirdamadi, Feyzollah Arabsorkhi, en Mohsen Aminzadeh.
International Campaign for Human Rights in Iran expressed its serious concern for the health and safety of Derakhshan and all other detainees who remain in jail without access to their families and lawyers. The Campaign urged the Judiciary not to allow its duties to be subjugated to the demands of intelligence agencies, which are manipulating the Judiciary and holding detainees without proper judicial proceedings.
