Iran: searches

Amnesty International reports that Abbas Hosseini, an Afghan who is convicted for a murder he committed when he was 17-year-old, will be executed Monday in Mashhad.
He was sentenced to death in 2004, but the execution was postponed to give the family of the victim another opportunity to accept payment of diyeh (blood money).
The case went also in appeal, but the judge confirmed the verdict.
The family refuses to pardon him in exchange for diyeh.

Yesterday the Telegraph.co.uk revealed that Ahmadinejad was of jewish descent. They based these on a research of the stamps and other things who were visible in his passport.
From this it is known that Ahmadinejad's name is Sabourjian ( cloth weaver).
This (officially jewish family-) name is very common in Aradan, Ahmadinejads birthtown.
The name of the family was changed to Ahmadinejad when they moved to Tehran in 1950.
Robert Tate from English newspaper The Guardian wrote in 2005 an article about the background of Ahmadinejads name.
He wrote that familymembers of Ahmadinejad in Aradan told that the family changed their name when moving to Tehran for religious and economic reasons.
