Iran: judge

Fars reported November 19 that 3 men were hanged in Isfahan.
According to the report the men were convicted for rape of a boy.
Nu further details are known.

The two most important detainees of the post-electional protests have received their sentences.
Former vice-president Mohammad Ali Abtahi is sentenced to a jailterm of 6 years. He was also tried in the televised mass trials of post-election detainees and read a "confession".
Mohammad Atrianfar is sentenced, the sentence has not been announced yet.
They can appeal the sentences.

Iranian authorities have officially filed the cause of death of Ramin Pourandarjani as suicide.
Pourandarjani worked as a doctor in Kahrizak prison and was found dead last week.
According to the report "there is no connection between the suicide of the Kahrizak physician and the post-election events."
This is opposite the statement, given last Wednesday by the Tehran policecommander who said that "after being summoned by the judiciary in connection with the Kahrizak investigation, fear of imprisonment had led him to commit suicide."

The Third Committee of the United Nations General Assembly approved a resolution strongly condemning Iran for violating the human rights of its citizens.
The resolution was passed by 74 in favor and 48 against votes.
