Iran: hunanrights

Today, December 10th is the Day of Universal Declaration of Human Rights







Amnesty International has said in a new report that human rights violations in Iran are now as bad as at any time in the past 20 years.
The report "Iran: Election contested, repression compounded" describes patterns of abuse before, during and, particularly, after the June election, when the authorities deployed the Basij militia and Revolutionary Guards to suppress mass protests against its disputed outcome.




Near the border area of Shireh-Nay are December 5 three Kurds burned to death when security forces opened fire on their truck. One of the victims is identified as Garman Omry. There is no information on the identities of the 2 others.

Leftish student Mohammad Yousef Rashidi has gone into dry hungerstrike again.
He was arrested in November in Noshahr and is transferred to ward 209 of Evinprison.
Rashidi has gone on dry hunger for the second time protesting his solitary confinement.

Mohammad Poor-Abdollah is sentenced to 6 years in prison.
Poor-Abdollah is detained since February 12th, 2009.The first 300 days he spent in ward 209 of Evinprison, but recently he is transferred to Ghezel-Hesarprison, which is reserved for dangerous and violent convicts.

In Yasuj Ali Bakhsh Bazr-Afkan was on trial with two of his employees Saeed Faridi and Zafar Mohammadi, behind closed doors. The accusation is propagating the Bahaifaith.
They were arrested November 16.

Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty published 5 videos of the demonstrations of Monday on her site.


According to Tehran prosecutor are 86 people from the 204 people arrested on Monday,released.
The judiciary claimed the 86 had expressed "regret" for having attended the "illegal" gatherings of December 7 and were released.
