This tradition lasts 13 days and is a holiday period in Iran.
People have been released.
Saeed Nourmohammadi, member of the Participation Front and the last detainee of the Komeil prayersession in October, was released from Evin prison on Tuesday, March 16, 2010.
The journalist, economic analist and one of the post-election detainees, Saeed Leylaz, is released on bail till April 4th, 2010.
Tara Sepehrifard, secretary of the Islamic Association of Sharif University of Technology (SUT), is released on March 16th.
The student-activist Mohammad-Yousef Rashidi, connected to Tahkim-e Vahdam organization is released March 15 after 100 days detention.
Filmer and activist Mehdi Pourmoussa who was arrested with other guests in the house of Jafar Panahi, was released March 14 on $120,000 bail.
The lawyer Mohammad Oliaiyfard, (the lawyer of the in October executed juvenile offender Behnoud Shojaei) is released March 14. He was sentenced to one year imprisonment on charges of propaganda against the system by interviewing to the foreign media about Behnoud’s case.
Yasser Masoumi, national-religious activist who used to work for reformist newspapers was re-arrested on March 14, after previously being arrested for a short period in October 2009 after attending a Komeil prayer.
Majid Seideh, a resident of Sheykhan village in Oshnaviyeh County (in West Azarbaijan province) is sentenced to 15 years in prison on charges of cooperating with an opposition group.
Advar news reported that five students of Ahvaz Jundi Shapur University are arrested.
The names of the students are: Mehdi Ebrahimi-Zaker, Amin Marzban, Navid Najjar, Pedram Yavari, and Bashir Sarhangi.
Mehdi Kalari who was arrested on Students Day, December 7, 2009 is sentenced to 3years in prison.
He was charged with insulting the Leader and propaganda against the system.
