Farogh Azizi, Edris Azizi and Sadegh Firoozi, 3 Kurdish activists and residents of a village near Oshnaviyeh, are sentenced to a prisonterm of each 15 months for having links to anti-regime groups.

According to Farsi Christian News Network (FCNN), are three christians, Maryam Jalali, Mitra Zahmati, and Farzan Matin who were arrested D2December 24 in Varamin, released.
Initially was a group of 12 other people arrested also, but they were released already on January 4th.

Sayyed Ahmadreza Ahmadpour, a senior Participation Front member in Qum, is sentenced to 1 year in prison.
Ahmadpour who is a cleric and political activist in Masched Solaiman in Khuzestan province has been defrocked for life.
A special clerical court in Qum convicted him for propagating against the regime, disseminating lies and disgracing the clergy.

The demonstrations against the drying of Lake Urmia (Oromyieh) April 2nd led to clashes between securityagents and Azeri environmentalists.
Reports say that security agents set up an inspection station by a bridge 50 kilometers from the lake to stop people from going to the lake.
Also people who came in buses from the cities Ilkhchi and Salmas were stopped.
More then hundred Azeri arrested.
Some names are: Yavar Jamali, Morteza Avazpour, Mohammad Tajdehi, Mansour Seyfi, Arsalan Zare’ee, Hamid Valayee, Ahmad Valayee, Hossein Nasiri, Askar Sadoghi, Mohammad Tabrizi, Ali Baghbani, Yaghub Ramezani, Mohammad Mohammadlo, Azizkhan Sadeghzadeh, and Sadighi.. The names of the other arrested people are not known.
Approximately tenthousand people gathered to demonstrate at the lake on Sizdeh Bedar or Nature Day.
Not only was demonstrated against the drying out of the lake, but they also demonstrated for more freedom of Azeri and the right to speak the Azeri language at schools.
Experts believe that with a small investment, the government can solve the problem and prevent the lake from drying.
The government however has many conflicts with ethnic populations in Iran and has intentionally attempted to destroy the environments of specific areas in the country.
