Iran: further


Soon will a tri-partite agreement be signed between Afghanistan, Tajikistan and Iran, which allows Iran to import water from Tajikistan.
The website of the Iraanse ministry of Energy reported that this water will be used in powerplants.
The amount of water which Iran purchased is not known.

400 workers of the Sirjan Golgohar Iron Ore Company pelletsfactory in Kerman province are on strike since June 14th.
The strike started following the announcement of the results of the hiring exams of the company in which only 40 of the 500 workers had passed.
One of the strikers told the reformist website Kalemeh that they worked hard to actualize the pelletizing factory for the past five years but now the management is using the exams as an excuse in trying to get rid of them.

According to the policechief in Tehran 91 people were arrested June 12th, but according to other sources are much more people arrested and taken to unknown locations while filming or taking photographs.
Also journalist Abdolreza Tajik, a member of Defenders for Human Rights Center is arrested for the third time within one year.
Narges Mohammadi, a close associate of the Nobel Peace Prize laureate Shirin Ebadi, and spokeswoman of the Defenders for Human Rights Center, was arrested at her residence in the evening of the 12th of June, 2010 by agents of the Intelligence Ministry.

Some 500 people gathered at the Behesht Zahrakerkhof in Tehran to attend a memorial service for the victims of the electionprotests in 2009.
Approximately 200 security agents had set up barricades at the entrance of the cemetery to block people from entering.
At least 30 people were arrested and dozens wounded in clashes between security forces and opposition supporters at the cemetery.
