Iran: further

Ayatollah Boroujerdi wrote an open letter addressed to the President and Members of the UN Human Rights Council, and called on the United Nations and its relevant organs to investigate the abuses taking place in Iran and the Middle East as a consequence of intervention of religion into politics thus paving the way for the passage of a resolution supporting the separation of state from religion.
This appeal was read September 23 by Iranian journalist Nazenin Ansaari. A summary of Mr. Boroujerdi’s activities prior to his arrest in 2006 and torturous conditions under which he has been held in the notorious Evin prison preceded the address.
Copy of the letter is sent to Ms Navanethem Pillay, UN High Commissioner for Human Rights.

Daneshoo News writes that Zia Nabavi in severely abused and interrogated in the prison of Ahwaz. He is accused of "moharebeh"for defending the right on education.
In a telephone conversation with Ali Taghipour, former secretary of Islamic Student Union of NTUB, he told how he was beaten and interrogated on arrival.
The conditions of Ahwazprison are bad. Drinkingwater is not purified and the bathrooms are unhygienic.
His family lives in Semnan, and they would have to travel 16 hrs to visit him.
