Iran: rulings

A 4-year-old child that 10 days ago severely abused was admitted in Tehran to the Mofid Children’s hospital, has been released and delivered to his abusive father.
Upon arrival at the hospital, his body showed injuries from severe beatings from his parents who burned various parts of his body. At first he told the staff that his father has beaten him, but later he said that he did not know what happened.
The President of the Academic Association of Social Workers in Iran told ISNA that according to the law a father may refer to the Judiciary any time he wishes to collect his child, but even though the legal proceedings have allowed for the child to return to his father, must be known how the presiding Judge came to the decision that the father is qualified to care for the child.
According to him welfare workers have not conducted enough investigation into the case.
