Ayatollah Ali Mohammad Dastgheib the representtive of Shiraz in the Assembly of Experts condemned on his personal website the treatment and housearrest of opposition leaders Mir Hossein Mousavi and Mehdi Karroubi.
He also urged the members of the Assembly of Experts to speak out against "the violations committed by government bodies such as the Supreme Leader's subsidiary groups: the Revolutionary Guards, the Basij militia, the intelligence service and the national broadcasting network Seda va Sima.
He also criticised the fact that despite numerous reports of torture in prisons, the clergy remains silent.
In the last two years ayatollah Dastgheib has spoken out against the widespread crackdown on election protesters and he and the Qoba Mosque in Shiraz were attacked multiple times by gouvernmentsupporters.
At least 42 of the outspoken cleric's supporters and seminarians have been arrested.

Reports say that the female political prisoner Zahra Jabari suffers from a severe heart condition and rheumatism and according to a letter of Medical Commission, sent to Tehran Prosecutor Abbas Jafari Dolat Abadi, she should be admitted to a hospital for treatment.
Instead agents of the Ministry of Intelligence who make the decisions behind the scenes about the fate of political prisoners transferred her to the psychiatric hospital Amin Abad Insane Asylum in Shahre Rey.
