Iran: more

A French newspaper reported on Friday that Iran helped Syria with $5,8 billion as economical aid.
In recent months Syria’s economy suffered because of the unrest and reduced oilexports.
Iran also gave Syria a 3-month loan worth $1.5 billion.

The head of police for Public Places has taken steps to control the identity of internet users.
A memorandum of the Department of Public Places to the Audio and Video Trade Union and Guild of Cyber Café Owners said that each internetcafe has to install closed circuit cameras and to document all identification belonging to a customer using the internet, including the times of use.

Journalist Isa Sahahrkhiz, one of the founders of Society for the Defense of Press Freedom in Iran, wrote a letter from Rajaei Shahr prison to the UN Human Rights Special Rapporteur for Iran and urged him to take immediate action.
Saharkhiz was violently arrested in July 2009 and suffered broken ribs.
He was sentenced to 3 years in prison for insulting the Leader and the regime, banned from all political and journalistic activities for five years, and prohibited from leaving the country for one year.
