Iran: prison

July 19, 2011 were three young men hanged in public in Kermanshah.
The men, Javad A., Milad Gh., and Javad A. were sentenced to death for the rape of a girl in April 2011.
The ages were not made public, but reports say that the men had an average age of 21 years.
The final verdict was issued only 18 days after the alleged offence. One week later the sentence was approved by the Supreme Court. The execution order was finalized by the head of the Iranian judiciary on July 10th.

The deputy head of the Association of Iranian Journalists and spokesman of Society for Freedom of the Press, Mashallah Shamsolvaezin is summoned by Evinprison to serve his 16 months prison sentence.
He was sentenced by judge Moghiseh of branch 28 of the revolutionary court for “propaganda against the regime,” and “insulting the president.”
Shamsolvaezin has a Masters Degree in political science at Lebanon University. He was editor of Kayhan Magazine, and contributed to other media, including Jame’eh Newspaper, Toos, Neshat, and Asr-e Azadegan.

July 16, 7 political prisoners were allowed a short leave for a religious holiday. Their names are Bahareh Hedayat, Mahdieh Golroo, Behzad Nabavi, Mohsen Mirdamadi, Feizollah Arabsorkhi, Abdollah Ramezanzadeh, Javad Emam and Massoud Lavasani.
Although hundreds of prisoners are in Evinprison, no other prisoner neither in Evin or other prisons were allowed a leave.
Juli 16 , Maryam Majd a photojournalist who was arrested on June 20, is released on bail until her courtdate.

Hygiene is very bad in Iranian prisons.
