Iran: appealing

The Mourning Mothers of Laleh Park has again condemned the massmurders of the 80's, particularly the mass execution of political prisoners in 1987.
Now once again human rights have been clearly and widely violated in Iran, a special UN rapporteur has been appointed to look into the situation in Iran.

Ayatollah Hossein Kazemeini Boroujerdi who is imprisoned in Tehran’s Evin prison since October 2006, appealed to international human lawyers and organizations to support those who are imprisoned in by the Iranian regime for standing up for democracy and freedom.

August 24 more then 30 ethnic Azeri's were arrested in Tabriz during an iftar. They were protesting the Iranian government's failure to take measures to save Lake Urmia,which is drying up.
August 25 more people were arrested before and after a soccer match in Tabriz between the Azerbaijani Trakhtorsazi team and local team Shahrdari Tabriz. Thousands of people chanted "Lake Urmia is dying, the Majlis orders its execution" during the match.
When the lake dries out, some 10 million tons of salt will remain which will damage the environment and may cause illness among people living in the vicinity.
