Iran: acting

In the prison of the city of Qom is September 29 a man hanged.
The man, M.F. was accused of keeping 1572 grams and selling 2435 grams of crack.
Newsagencies Fars and Mehr reported that the man was arrested in October 2009 and sentenced to death in May 2010.

In recent years, more then 6 million dropouts came in Iran due to poverty.
In the last decade the population increased with 1,5 % while the number of students decreased from 18 millions to 12 million. The reasons are primarely from economical or social nature.

Mahmoud Reza Khavari, managing director ofBank Melli, Iran’s biggest state-bank, fled to Canada after the arrest of several topbankers in connection with a case described as the largest embezzlement in Iranian history.
Mehrnews reported that Khavani is among 22 people being sought by Iran’s chief prosecutor in the case. Bank Melli is accused of facilitating some of the fraudulent payments.
