Iran: prepared

In the prison of Birjand was a man hanged.
The not named man was sentenced to dead for killing of a security officer during an armed clash between the security forces and drug traffickers in July 2011.

According to a UN rapport Iran hanged hundreds of prisoners in secret.
The rapport says that in 2011 at least 200 prisoners were executed officially, with at least 83 prisoners, in January alone.
Furthermore, authorities reportedly conducted more than 300 secret executions at Vakilabad prison in 2010 and at least 146 prisoners were executed in 2011.

Mohammad Maleki is convicted to one year in prison. He was arrested in 2009 but after 191 days temporary released due to medical necessity. He has been sentenced to one year in prison for anti-regime propaganda and was acquitted of Moharebeh and insulting the Supreme Leader and Ayatollah Khomeini.
Womensrightsactivist Fereshteh Shirazi is convicted to 2 years in prison for libel and insulting authorities on her weblog and to one year in prison for antiregimepropaganda. She has also been banned from exiting the country for 7 years.

Student Amin Niaeifar has been lashed for insulting president Ahmadinejad.He had been arrested during the Ashuraprotests and convicted to 6 months in jail, 1,5 years of suspended imprisonment and 30 lashes.He was summoned to carry out the lashing sentence during the prison visits and he is to be released next week.

UK freezes the assets of 5 Iranians in connection with the alleged Iranian plot to assassinate Saudi Arabia’s ambassador to the United States.
The British finance ministry confirmed that it had acted under the Terrorist Asset Freezing Act.
This includes Manssor Arbabsiar, a 56-year-old U.S. citizen who also holds an Iranian passport, and Gholam Shakuri, a member of Iran’s Quds Force, who is at large in Iran and three other men, Hamed Abdollahi, a senior Quds officer, Abdul Reza Shahlai and Qasem Soleimani, the commander of the Quds force.
