Iran: interests

Journalist Keyvan Samimi who is imprisoned in Rajae Shahr prison has been diagnosed with a livertumor. He is in urgent need of medical care.
Samimi is Editor-in-Chief of the banned newspaper Nameh, member of Freedom of the Press Society, member of the Committee to Pursue Arbitrary Arrests and The Right To Education Committee.
He is incarcerated since June 13, 2009. In November 2010 he was transferred from Evinprison to Rajae Shahr prison.

Parisa Babaei , a Bahai citizen from Ghaemshahr has been arrested by security agents after being summoned to the office of the ministry of information. She has been transferred to Sari.

A group of former and current studentactivists wrote a letter to president Obama on the occasion of the anniversary of the hostage-taking of the American embassy in Iran.
In this letter they stress the importance of sanctioning the Iranian authorities.
