The sister of sentenced to death Canadian-Iranian webdesigner Saeed Malekpour says that her brother is innocent and that he did not get a fair trial.
Malekpoor, who lives in Canada, was arrested in 2008 in Tehran during a visit to his father.He was brought to prison and spent a year in solitary confinement.
In 2010 he was sentenced to death for designing and moderating websites with adult content.
His sister says that her brother not was involved in any illegal activity. A computer program he had written and put his name on was used by pornographic websites to upload pictures.
His verdict has been confirmed by the Supreme Court.

In a fresh crackdown on press freedom ahead of the country’s parliamentary elections in March, a fresh crackdown on journalists started.
In recent weeks at least 3 journalists, Marzieh Rasouli, Parastoo Dokouhaki, and photojournalist Sahamoddin Bourghani were arrested.

Iranian authorities say that homosexuality is a western disease and that same-sex marriages are immoral. General Mohammad Javad Larijani made these remarks in Tehran to a lawmaker from the Federal Republic of Germany, Tom Koenigs, who chairs the human rights committee in Germany’s parliament.
In Iran homosexuality is punishable by death.
