Iran: more

On the eve of the last Wednesday of the Persian year (which ends on 21 March), Iranians gather to light bonfires in the streets.
Singing, dancing and eating together are also part of this fire festival, known as Chaharshanbe Suri.
In recent years the firefest was used to demonstrate against the government or was vandalized.
The authorities will this year also crackdown on people who are disturbing the fest.
