Iran: Tie June 4, 2012

In Nimroz province in Iran were 3 men hanged. The men, Afghan residents of Takhar province were convicted on drugsrelated charges. Officials reported that 2 men were around 25 years old and one man 36 years.
The number of Afghan citizens in Iranian prisons is unknown however a number of  Afghans have been hanged over criminal and drugs smuggle charges in this country during the recent years.

The Iranian minister of defense said the country's new space centre which is to be used to launch satellites is currently 80% complete.Iran has two space exploration facilities, a launch centre near Semnan,and a satellite monitoring site outside Mahdasht.
He did not say when or where this site will be opened.

In Iran selling neckties is banned since 1979. In recent years ties had returned to boutiques and shops.
Despite the ban on selling ties, wearing them is not an offence. Many people wear a tie. According to ISNA the shops received a letter from the police to notify them to take their ties off display and that those who break the ban risk having their shops closed down.
