Iran: more August 1, 2012

According to Reuters seven Iranian aidworkers of Iranian Red Crescent in Libia are abducted by an unknown group.
Security officials say that they were abducted from their vehicle in the heart of Benghazi on their way back to their hotel.
The Libyan Red Crescent Association confirmed the incident.

The Chairman of the Ardabil Revolutionary Cour reported that 2 Azerbaijan spies were arrested. He said that currently four Azeri are imprisoned. Two of them are charged with spying, while the other two are charged with drug trafficking.
The poets Farid Huseynov and Sahriyar Hacizada are since May detained in Tabriz, first on drugscharges, later these were changed in spycharges.

In a joint statement Shirin Ebadi, Nobel Peace Laureate, International Federation for Human Rights (FIDH), and the Iranian League for the Defense of Human Rights (LDDHI) said that conditions for political prisoners in Iran are daily deteriorating.
Political prisoners and prisoners of conscience are tortured and ill-treated during pre-trial detention, lack access to their lawyers and families and due process, and are subsequently tried under conditions far from international standards of fair trials.A list with names:
