Iran: more August 31, 2012



International Campaign for Human Rights in Iran sent a letter to Iranian authorities urging them to revise the Border Closure Plan and  to put an end to the endangering the lives of the border residents.
The accompanied the report “Dangerous Borders, Callous Murders: Documenting the Killings of Couriers in Iran’s Western Provinces,” which documents extensive human rights abuses in the predominantly Kurdish border provinces of Iran.

Website Herana reported that 2 prisoners in the cities of Bandar Abbas and Zahedan died due to inhumane behavior.
Mozzafar Dadi, 24 died from severe internal bleeding after being beaten.
Siavosh Touri died in Zahedan from a heartattack after prison officials refused to transfer him to the prison clinic.

Wednesday the Iranian parliament voted with 148 - 5 in favor of a bill that could lead to death penalty for persons convicted of working in the production of pornographic movies.
The "main elements" refered to in the draft include producers, directors, cameramen and actors involved in making of pornographic videos.

A new report from International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) says the number of centrifuges at Fordow had more than doubled from 1,064 to 2,140.
Since 2010 Iran had produced nearly 190 kilograms of higher-grade enriched uranium more then 145 kilograms since May.
Finally, the IAEA report said high-level talks this year with Iranian officials have resulted in "no concrete results.
