Iran: more December 22, 2012



Political prisoner Majid Assadi who is detained in ward 350 of Evinprison has begun a hungerstrike for one week protesting the measures of  branch 15 of Iran’s Revolutionary Court by Judge Salavati.
This branch ordered that the prisoners Ali Moezi and Vahid Asghari were transferred to solitary confinement and banned from any visits.
By this action, he wants to attract the attention to the situation of political prisoners who are banned of visiting their families.
He serves a prisonsentence of 4 years.

The health of detained lawyer Javid Houtan Kian who is imprisoned in the prison of Tabriz,is deteriorating due to lack of medical consideration.
Human Rights Activists News Agency (HRANA) reports that he is suffering from kidney and intestinal infections and is being rejected for medical examination.
Houtan Kian is the lawyer of initially to death by stoning convicted Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani. He was arrested in 2010 along with 2 German journalists and the son of Sakineh, Sajjad Ghaderzadeh and sentenced to 11 years in prison following a televised confession and a 5 year ban of profession.The journalists and Sajjad Ghaderzadeh, were later released.

Five Kurdish prisoners in the prison of Orumieh, Ahmad Jahangir Badozadeh, Ali Ahmed Sleman, Yousef Kakememi, Ahmed Temoi and Mostafa Ali Ahmed, were transferred to the ministry of information. Despite no proof having been found during interrogation, they are accused of communication with foreign media and ties with human rights reporters.
