Iran: persecution December 19th 2012




Since 2010 more than 300 Christians throughout the country have been arbitrarily arrested.
According to Ahmad Shaheed, United Nations Special Rapporteur for Human Rights in Iran, were at least 41 persons detained for periods ranging from one month to over a year.
Other religious minorities, like Bahai, are also persecuted Sufileaders are attacked and shot, journalists  imprisoned for their websites. Sunni Muslims also face harassment and discrimination.

The Committee of Human Rights Reporters reported that the father of labor activist Seyed Hadi Daneshyar has been arrested by security agents in Shiraz when they detected he was not at home. They also confiscated a computer and personal belongings.
His father has been brought to Adel-Abad Prison in Shiraz.
