Iran: more January 13 2013



Kurdpa newsagency reported that the body of the student and member of the Green Movement Keramatollah “Keramat” Zareian, 27, was found in the bathtub of an appartment in Tehran.
In 2009 he was arrested bij intelligence agents and in 2010 he was released in the city of Jahrom.
In August 2012 he was summoned again by the ministry of information and interrogated and told to leave Iran.
According to his sister he was tortured. On November 16 2012 security agents contacted the family and told them their son had an “accident” which had resulted in his death.

Mehrnews reported that Iranian police statistics reveal that each day there are 652 new drugsrelated cases and that each hour 30 people are arrested.
In the first nine months of the current Iranian calendaryear were 1,286 kg of drugs confiscated and 53 kg of drugs are being discovered every hour. Also were 200,000 people arrested and 1700 drugsgangs discovered and dismantled.
Eighty percent of drug crimes were committed in the provinces of Hormozgan and Sistan-Baluchistan, there is also a 5% increase . 1,8 million people are addicted to drugs, 3.9% are women.

KLM said that they suspend its Amsterdam-Tehranservice, as from April 2013. A spokesman said this decision was made for economical reasons.
Then only Lufthansa flies to Iran from Western-Europe.
Alitalia and Turkish Airlines also fly to Iran.
