Iran: fire

Iran Khodro is linked to 70% of fire incidents in Iran.
50 Peugeot 405 sedans caught fire in Tehran during Dec. 5-12. 60 fire incidents, due to technical failures in Peugeot 405 of Iran Khodro Car Manufacturing Company as a result of which 124 people were killed, occurred in September.
Traffic police chief Royanian said at a meeting attended by officials of Iran Khodro Car Manufacturing Company, inspection and production experts, representatives of the Fire Department and traffic police officers,that Iran Khodro’s officials have declared that the problem in the fuel system of Peugeot 405 cars has been solved and assured that no new Peugeot 405 car will catch fire anymore.
Kargozaran newspaper reports that about 100 of the Peugeot 405 sedans have caught fire in the past few months due to a defective fuel system and that Iran is gearing up to ban the new Peugeot 405 from its streets
Iran Khodro has recalled 100,000 cars for repair but 25,000 have still yet to be checked.
