Iran: protest

UNHCR, the human rights organization of the UN has published a statement in which the Special Rapporteurs urge Iran to stop execution of the seven Ahwaz Arabs who in illegal and secret courts have been sentenced to death.
Also the UNPO, the unrepresented nations and peoples organization calls on Iran in a pressrelease to stop execution.
The seven men were arrested in connection to bombings in 2006 in province Khuzestan (Ahwaz). Last month already three men were executed.
Monday, january 8, the families of seven Ahwazi Arab men were informed by Iranian authorities that their men are to be executed within the next few days. The names of these men are:
Ghasem Salami, 41, married with 6 children
Mohammad Lazem Kaabpour, 28, married with one child, student at Shushtar University
Abdolamir Farjolah Kaab, 26, married, student at Shushtar University
Alireza Asakereh, 24, from Maashur (Mahshahr)
Majad Albughbish, 30, from Maashur (Mahshahr)
Abdolreza Sanawati, 34, married, from Ahwaz City
Khalaf Dohrab Khanafereh, 34, married with one child, from Falahieh



Some one million Iranians living in Khuzestan, wrote letters of complaint to president Ahmadinejad during his visit to the province, the Kuwaiti daily al-Qabas reported on Tuesday.
Most of the letters focused on the issue of unemployment.




This morning, three strong explosions ocurred in Khorramshar, Khuzestan province. The explosions were so strong that they shook windows of houses.
