Iran: decisions have smaller or greater consequences

According to IRNA President Ahmadinejad said that in recent days, petrol consumption has dropped from 80 mln litres per day to 70 mln and has to go down to less than 60 mln litres per day.
The rationing would continue for four months and might be extended to six months.
The fuelrationing announcement triggered nationwide protests.

Yesterday, thousands of Iranians rallied in Paris to protest against a EU decision to keep People's Mujahedeen of Iran(PMOI) on a terror blacklist.
According to Maryam Rajavi, political leader of the PMOI, the PMOI is a peaceful movement from Iranians in exile and they rejected violence.

The People's Mujahedeen is also on the USA State Department's terror list.

Amnesty International calls for urgent action for
Davoud Abdollahi Moghadam, army colonel, who February 22 was sentenced to death by a military court and is in imminent danger of execution.
He was detained on or around 26 February 2006 and reportedly spent 11 months solitary confinement in Tehran's Evin Prison. The charges included spying and
"transmitting state secrets to foreign interests".
He reportedly "confessed" after ill-treatment and possibly torture.
He appealed against his sentence, and on around 11 June a higher military tribunal reportedly upheld the verdict. His case has still to go before the Supreme Court for a final appeal.

In Iran there are childoffenders, still on death row.
