Iran: cut


Yesterday Flag Telecom reported on its website that FLAG EUROPE ASIA Cable cut between Alexandria (Egypt) and Palermo (Italy) is being repaired this moment. The repairs will be completed by Sunday, February 10th 2008.
The FALCON Cable cut between Dubai (UAE) and Al SEEB (Oman) is also being repaired.
The repair work is expected to be completed by Sunday, February 10th 2008.
VSNL restored internet services within 24 hours following Egypt Submarine Cable break.
Iran's internet connectivity is not depending on only these cables.
The head of Telecommunication Infrastructure Company (TIC) said that networks had not slowed down significantly, but communication links with Iran are operating through Turkey and other routes.


The daily Hambastegi reports that more than 100 sacked workers in Golestan Province staged a gathering calling for an end to natural gas supply cuts in dozens of brick and pottery furnaces.
According to a labor activist, Ali-Akbar Rahimi, have due to the natural gas cuts in said factories dozens of workers lost their jobs.
