Iran: qualify

Mahdi Hamidanpour has been appointed the new Director General of the Imam Khomeini Airport (IKIA) by the Director of the State Airports Company (SAC).
The previous director was dismissed last month due to mismanagement of problems caused by heavy snowfall at the airport.


Between Golashan and Ferdows fields in the Persian Gulf has a new gasfield been discovered.
The field has an estimated 11 trillion cubic feet in reserves.
This is the second major gas field that is discovered in Iran in recent months. Iran had discovered a gas field before in the province of Fars.



Spokesman Abbasali Kadkhodaei from the Guardian Council said that if a candidate has been disqualified by executive bodies only because of his political tendency, the council will reverse the decision.
He said in a press conference , that if some mistakes have occurred in vetting the qualification of parliamentary election candidates, the Guardians Council will inspect them.
The results of this inspection will be announced via the Interior Ministry till Feb. 21.
The disqualified candidates can appeal against the Guardians Council’s decision from Feb. 22 to 24 and the council will review their cases again and announce the results by March 4.
